...and I am Against the Wall because Scripture says that Jesus "died for all" (2 Corinthians 5:15). Every human being is infinitely valuable to God and should be to me too. As a white person, I want to personally apologize to my brothers and sisters who have experienced the cruel effects of prejudice, in any form, from me, my family, my church, my race, etc. I know I have "benefited" from white privilege in ways I don't even understand, while many of my peers have suffered from the insidious generational (and current) effects of racial injustice. Apologies seem empty and insignificant in the face of the damage done, but my hope is that the One who "died for all," will bring about an ongoing work of healing and racial reparation in our church and in our world.
